Reports of the activities of the PHYSICS association

The Physics Association is a vibrant and homely platform for the activities of the students of the department of physics. The activities of the association, organized by the students, are closely monitored by a staff member and the head of the department. The association has a President, Secretary, Treasurer and ten executive members to co-ordinate the activities. Meetings are held periodically to discuss, review and plan various activities. The association also awards scholarships to one financially backward and meritorious student each from each class. The scholarships are instituted by the family of Prof. Antony Simon. The association conducts an “All Kerala Physics Quiz Competition” in memory of our first head of the department Prof. A.V. Varkey.

In addition to the academic activities, the association also celebrates special occasions like Onam, Christmas, etc. The association also organizes one day cultural fest in the department in which all the teachers and students join the programmes in full swing.
