CSM & Jesus youth

C.S.M. is an organization primarily of the Catholic students. Yet it extends services and facilities of formation to all students in the campus. The basic aim of the activities of the C.S.M. is the integral personality development of campus youth. To realize this objective C.S.M has three dimensional activities, spiritual, cultural and social. With a view to impart Christ experience and faith, C.S.M. offers programmes like active participation in liturgy, nourishment of sacramental life, retreat, prayer meeting etc. To promote their intellectual and cultural development, the students are given various training programmes like value education camps, leadership training camps, mass media awareness programmes etc. Under social action students are guided and oriented to service according to the social doctrines of the Church. Sri. Sojan Pullattu is the Director of the C.S.M.

A leadership camp 'Blossom 2009' was conducted during 27 - 29 November 2009 at the Pastoral Institute, Pala. The camp was inaugurated by Very Rev. Msgr. O.P Eanas Ottathengumkal. Manager of the College. It was a tremendous success as it brought new-found confidence and calibre to the minds of the younger generation. Around 60 students from various colleges participated in the camp. A literary competition was also conducted at regional level.

Christmas programme conducted by CSM on 17 December 2009 was an outstanding event. Archbishop Very Rev. Dr. Kuriakose Mar Severiose, Metroplitan Archbishop of Knanaya Jacobite Church, inaugurated the function. Different types of programmes like drama, skit, dances, songs, carol songs etc. were presented. The CSM unit also put up a beautiful crib in front of the College which drew great attention from all.
Jesus Youth
The Jesus Youth Movement is characterized by an active Catholic lifestyle revolving around these six pillars viz., I) Sacraments, 2) Word of God, 3) Personal prayer, 4) Fellowship, 5) Evangelization, and 6) Option for poor.
The core of Jesus Youth is the power of youth reaching out to youth in the strength of the Holy Spirit. When young people receive a touch from the Lord, they spontaneously go out and share their God-experience with their friends.
In the diocese of Palai, Jesus Youth’s service team is working under the guidance of Rev. Dr. Kurian Mattam. By the grace of God, a good Jesus Youth unit is functioning in St. Thomas College, Pala. Rev. Fr. loyal Pandaraparampil, Prof. Thomas V Mathew (Dept. of Chemistry), and Sr. Alphonsa F.C.C., lead and guide the college level actions. The Jesus Youth has grown into a dynamic initiative, evolving its characteristic structure to suit diverse requirements.
Prayer Meeting
Prayer meeting of Jesus Youth is conducted every Thursday after 3.45 pm in the College chapel. Holy Mass is celebrated on the first friday of each month.
Pro-Life Ministry
Jesus Youth of the campus conducted a poster exhibition against abortion, infanticide and euthanasia, in November 2009 in order to highlight the importance of human life. Principal Dr. K.K. Jose inaugurated the exhibition. This exhibition inspired many students to correctly understand the value of human life.
Campus Ministry, Teens Ministry, Intercession Ministry etc. are some of the other ministries of Jesus Youth. Intercession and devotion to Mother Mary are part of the Jesus Youth lifestyle.
Miss-A-Meal and Save Your Brother
The Jesus Youth Unit is collecting food packets for ‘Maria Sadanam’ every Friday. Students either contribute an extra packet of lunch or miss their meal and contribute their lunch packet for the poor and the helpless.
Rosary Chain of the Campus

Students of Intercession ministry recited 25000 rosaries in December 2009. Dr. K.K. Jose, Principal inaugurated the programme on 1 December 2009. He conveyed Xmas message to all the students and teachers present in the chapel. All the Rev. Fathers in the campus were given special Xmas gifts by Jesus Youth.
