Seminar on “Heritage Preservation in Indian Tradition”
The seminar was conducted on 18th of October 2016. The Chief Resource person was Rev. Prof. Mathew Vannissery from U.S.A.
Curriculum Aspect
A batch of Second Year U.G Students of the department visited the folklore museum at Thevara, Indo-Portuguese Museum, Southern Naval Command Maritime Museum, Fort Kochi, Dutch Palace Museum Mattancherry etc. on 14th August 2017.
Extension activity
The P.G. students of the Department, as part of their study and the social commitment to encourage the farmers who are benefactors to the society as a whole, participated in the ‘Reaping Festivities’ of at Puliyannoor. It was a new experience to the students and an encouragement to the paddy cultivators of the area.

Archaeology Exploration Permission
Department of Archaeology has attained permission for carrying out exploration in the Meenachil river basin, Kottayam, Kerala for the field season 2018-2019. The Department of Archaeology, thus, proved its excellence in the respective field and elevated the prestige of the Department.
Merit Day Celebration
The merit day of 2018-2019 has conducted on 19th March 2018. MG University rank holders of the academic year 2018-2019 was awarded a memento to Linta Elsa Zachariah and Shalu Joseph for achieving II Rank and IV rank respectively. For cultural recognition Ramdas K. from I PG history was awarded, for achieving Ist prize in Bharatanatyam in South zone and II prize in National level. And also for bagging first prize in MG university Youth festival 2019.
Extension Programme 2018-2019
Swatch Bharat Mission based Cleaning Program on 29 September 2018 The objective of the program was to clean the adjacent areas of SH 32 from Palai to Mutholi. In pursuant to the vision of Swatch Bharath Abhiyan. Central govt program. A memento was awarded for the program by Mutholy Grama Panchayath.
