Programmes Offered
The department of vocational education was established in the year 2014 and the courses were started on 01-12-2014. The University Grants Commission (UGC) had launched a scheme for skill development based higher education as part of college/university education, leading to Bachelor of Vocational (B.Voc.) degree and Diploma under Community College Scheme.
The B.Voc and Community College Programme is focused on universities and colleges providing undergraduate studies which would also incorporate specific job roles and their NOSs (National Occupational Standards) along with broad based general education. These vocational courses give a vertical mobility for the students those who have completed vocational higher secondary education. This would enable the graduates completing B.Voc and Diploma makes a meaningful participation in accelerating India’s economy by gaining appropriate employment, becoming entrepreneurs and creating appropriate knowledge.
Our Courses are purely based on SKILL INDIA Development. NATIONAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION (NSDC) will be the implementing agency for this Scheme and NSDF shall monitor the implementation of the Scheme, using mutually agreed criteria with NSDC.
The objective of this Scheme is to encourage skill development for youth by providing monetary rewards for successful completion of approved training programs.
Specialty of the Courses
Sustainable Agriculture
BVoc. Sustainable Agriculture was started in December 2014 with grant of UGC and with a sanctioned strength of 50 students. The mission of the department is to ‘To impart knowledge and skills in agriculture so that students can serve the farming community and society’ The department also encourages students to start agribusiness of their own and become agripreneurs. Many students are getting placements after this course. Also many of them are going for higher education . It has been a self-financing programme since 2018.
Food Processing technology
BVoc. Food Processing Technology was started in the year 2014 with grand of UGC. The aim of the course is to empower the students with knowledge and skills in Food Processing. The sanctioned strength of students is 50. Many students are placed in different food industries across India and abroad. Also many students are going for post graduation in Food Science and related sciences. It has been a self-financing programme since2018.
Printing Technology
BVoc Printing Technology was started in the year 2018 with UGC aid. Later in 2021, the course was converted in to self-financing stream. Students are equipped with various skills in Printing Technology after This Course . Many of them are getting jobs in the firm where they undergo internship.
