Library

We have a spacious, modern and an automated library with a large collection of books belonging to diverse disciplines. The College Library started functioning on 23.6.1950. The construction of the Golden Jubilee memorial Library building with an area of 20,000 sq.ft. was accomplished in 2004. The library is established with the aim of collection, preservation and dissemination of information. The Library supports the research and educational needs of Students, Research Scholars, and the Faculty of the College. 

In the Library which functions in four floors the ground floor is assigned for the arts and social science books. General books and facilities for photocopying are also provided here. The reference section in first floor is one of the prominent reference libraries in Kerala with an approximate collection of 10000 books. There is also a reading section and a digital library facility in the first floor. The second floor is an extensive area for science books and the fourth floor is the back volumes of periodicals section. We have adopted the system of open access to the collection of books. 

The library is automated with Koha Library Management software. Online catalogue search facility is available through http://library.stcp.ac.in/ and we provide individual login facility. It provides a very user-friendly interface for searching books available in the library and their issue status. The library is using the Dewey Decimal Classification (DDC) system to organise the book collection. The library also provides access to in-house Institutional repository and e-books through DSpace software. It has also a library portal website which provides links to various useful academic websites and previous year question papers. The library also subscribes various databases for the support of its users.

Monday to Friday: 8.30 am to 5.00 pm 

Saturdays: 9.30 am to 4.30 pm

Holidays: Sundays and all public holidays
