NCC Naval Wing

The National Cadet Corps (NCC), being the youth wing of the Indian Armed Forces, has been upholding its prestige for over decades. It has gifted a disciplined community of uniformed youth forthe nation and a vast number of opportunities and experiences for its fellow beings.

Being the sub-unit of the 5(Kerala) Naval NCC Unit, Changanassery, the NCC naval wing of St. Thomas college, Palai, has been a vital organization in the development of the institution and is playing a significant role in molding the character and discipline of the students. It has proved to be one of the successful organizations in the history of the college as well as of the unit. The structured trainings and various activities make its cadets more physically and even more mentally stable. The vast field of opportunities from visiting foreign countries, experiencing sea life, interacting with naval personnel’s to achieving various camps including  Republic Day Camp and Nau Sainik Camp make the students more social and disciplined.

Every academic year, a total vacancy of 15-25 seatsis opened for inducting students into the naval wing. Undergraduate students of the institution from all the departments are eligible to apply. The inducted students will undergo three years of trainings in which they can appear for the valuable ‘B’ and ‘C’ certificate examinations.
