Department Of Physical Education

The Physical Education department of St. Thomas College has an excellent track record in the field of sports and games. It has produced a lot of international and national level athletes. The departmental facilities include an international standard swimming pool, indoor stadium with wooden flooring, health club with multi gym and trainer, open –gym, government sponsored sports hostels for athletics, volleyball and swimming and Jimmy George outdoor stadium. The department conducts Bishop Vayalil All Kerala Intercollegiate Volleyball Tournament,  inter- department leagues in the games of badminton, basketball, cricket, football and volleyball every year.

The department began Bachelor of sports management course in the academic year of 2020-21. The program typically focuses on the business side of sports including management, marketing, finance and event planning within the sports industry. This degree equips students with the knowledge and skills needed to pursue careers in sports management, sports marketing, facility management, athletic administration and related fields. It includes course work in sports law, sports ethics, sports finance and strategic planning tailored to the sports industry.
