The department of Applied Microbiology started functioning from the academic year July 2004-2005. The main objective and focus of the department is to guide and impart innovative education at par with International standards. The department endeavors to specialize its student in distinct areas of Microbiology. The duration of the Master degree course is of two years having four semesters. Applied microbiology is a branch of microbiology that focuses on the practical applications of microorganisms in various fields such as agriculture, food production, medicine, environmental remediation, and biotechnology. Overall, the scope of applied microbiology encompasses a wide range of interdisciplinary fields, and its applications continue to grow and diversify as our understanding of microbial biology advances.
