A Visit to Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary

The second semester B.Sc. Zoology students visited Salim Ali Bird Sanctuary Thattekkad, to document its biodiversity. The students could watch many rare species of birds; they also interacted with the eminent ornithologist Dr. R. Sugathan. The group also visited Iringol Kavu, Kerala’s largest sacred grove.


The Department of Zoology and the Zoology Association of the College conducted an exhibition 'ZOION 2010' in connection with 'World Biodiversity Year Celebrations' on 28 and 29September 2010. The exhibition included display of rare specimens, bones of different animals, shells, embryological specimens, charts, physiology experiments etc. Almost all the students of the College and higher secondary students of nearby schools visited the exhibition on these days.
